Blackmagic Design has announced that Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K and the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera have commenced shipping and that the specifications of the two cameras have been changed. Blackmagic Design have decided to ship both of the cameras without the global shutter feature.

At IBC 2015 Blackmagic Design introduced the Blackmagic URSA Mini B4 Mount which is a B4 lens mount modification for its new Blackmagic URSA Mini PL camera that lets it use broadcast HD lenses. Since URSA Minis launch at NAB, feedback from broadcasters has been overwhelmingly positive, and now they will also be able to use their existing high definition B4 broadcast lenses with Blackmagic URSA Mini.

While the talk might all be about 4K at the moment, the real work being done is still largely HD. Atomos have a killer product, the Ninja Star, which has been out for some time: this is the world's smallest and lightest ProRes recorder. The strength of the Ninja Star is it provides exceptionally high quality recording in a unit which barely adds to the weight of your camera. Many other units require bolt-on's and scaffolding to make them work. The Ninja Star is barely noticeable in terms of size or weight.
