Datavision unwraps new affordable next-generation LED lights
>> Drawing on the latest technical developments in LED and the experience of early adopters, Datavision has launched a new series of LED lights that incorporate innovative new features, increased output, greater accuracy and total control.

LED has been well received in the industry chiefly because of its low power consumption. However, issues over colour accuracy and light output have persisted until very recently. Advances in the industry, such as dual colour LEDs and modular panels, devised to address these issues, are now becoming common-place on film studios and in TV studios.

Now Datavision can deliver these concepts to the wider professional market, with the launch of its new low-cost on-camera and portable studio lights. The result is an improved colour accuracy, fast switching between daylight and tungsten settings and brighter lights.

The new LED range includes:

A step forward from existing affordable ring lights, the LEDGO-CN-R332 is a very bright (2337 lumen), yet fully dimmable LED unit.

Importantly it mounts at the level of the lens, rather than being off-set like many other models, enabling greater accuracy for macro shots and avoiding unwanted shadowing. It is ideal illumination for video interviews, fitting via the tripod mount of camcorders and DSLRs.

The portable LEDGO CN-B308C offers dimmer control, bi-colour LEDs and a mere 18.5W draw from a portable panel that weighs only 587g. Its innovative design allows it to link with additional panels, to create a mobile lighting solution, combining multiple 1860 lumen units. The same unit is available with a single-colour LED (CN-B308), delivering a greater output at 2197 lumen.

The LEDGO CN-B160C is an on-camera light with dimmer control and dual-colour LEDs with a 9.6W draw. A great partner for any camcorder, it weights only 254g with an output of 1130 lumen. Like the B308C, this model can also be linked with other units for a fast, low-weight, location lighting solution. A single colour version – LEDGO-CN-B150 – is also available.

CN-600: a fully dimmable dual colour studio panel that outputs 2667 lumen yet draws only 36W and can run on broadcast battery power via its V-mount adapter. It is 3200K / 5600K switchable.
“Because of LED’s popularity, competition is hot to develop lights at lower cost with more and more features. With these new units, Datavision is showing innovation and keeping prices very keen while implementing new bi-colour designs for creative producers.” Commented Allan Leonhardsen of the distributor, Holdan.

The new Datavision range of lights is available from Holdan’s reseller channel across the UK and Northern Europe.
