Datavideo completes its prompter line up with two new rigs
>> Datavideo has introduced two new prompting systems to complete its line-up of teleprompters: The TP-500 is designed for use with DSLR and small handheld camcorders; the larger TP-600 is designed for news and studio environments.

Datavideo has introduced two new prompting systems to complete its line-up of teleprompters. Like earlier systems, the TP-500 and TP-600 are designed around 7-10” Apple iPad and Android tablets. They deliver a cost-effective and versatile solution. Each teleprompter is controlled by the presenter via a wired or wireless remote, and, twinned with mini WiFi encoders, multiple teleprompters can even be controlled from the production desk.

The TP-500 is designed for use with DSLR and small handheld camcorders ideal for webcasts, low-cost documentary makers and student productions that need instant prompting services in the field or on-set.

Designed for news and studio environments, the larger TP-600 unit can be assembled quickly to deliver through the lens prompting for productions using shoulder-mount cameras either in the field or in the television studio. Both the TP-500 and TP-600 employ 60/40 glass, an adjustable black snood, tool-free assembly and a frame that fixes securely to any standard tripod quick release plate.
Increasingly producers are trying to get the most from their equipment: field camcorders being adapted for studio use, video production cameras being used for live broadcast and webcasts. Datavideo is helping programme and film makers extract even more value from their existing kit with these new teleprompters. Within a few minutes and with very little outlay, users can enjoy professional teleprompting on location and even centralized multi-prompter solutions in the studio. Commented Allan Leonhardsen of Holdan, the UK distributor for Datavideo.

At launch both systems will be available with the new Universal Bluetooth Controller, a device that can play, pause and rewind scripts loaded onto the prompter tablets. The remote is compatible with Android, Apple iOS and all Datavideo teleprompting solutions. Also shipping are new dedicated hard cases – low-cost protective transport units with pre-cut foam inserts

Debuting in June 2013, TP-500 and TP-600 join TP-300, the tablet-based model suited to medium sized camcorders, such as the Panasonic AG-HPX250 or Sony PMW-200.
