Jeromy Young, CEO of Atomos, runs through the recent history of recording formats, from DV to HD and now to 4K. With each transition comes hurdles both in terms of cost and also in terms technical challenges. Atomos has made it their mission to provide cost effective solutions for those producing quality to the highest level – and this is the philosophy with the Shogun which is affordable to buy and affordable in terms of media requirements.
The latest product by Atomos – the Shogun – is a 4K ProRes or DNXHD/DNXHR recorder, featuring a first-class viewing monitor, capable of recording high frame rates, over SDI or HDMI.
