Lo Boy Crank-O-Vator I.1 & II.2 by Matthews Studio Equipment
The Lo Boy Crank-O-Vator is one of the most stable and rugged stands that has supported everything from lighting to grip and more for years. The latest versions were designed for the new style of todays productions.
“At Matthews, one of our prime goals is to listen to production crews,” says Robert Kulesh, V.P. Sales and Marketing for Matthews Studio Equipment. “One of the things that has been requested lately is a really rugged, heavy duty cranking stand. So, we didnt set out to reinvent the wheel we just replaced the old style stand with a different and better option.”

“The new Lo Boy Crank-O-Vator is designed for todays production needs,” he explains. “The strong and robust lightweight casters are standard and the BIG Boy heavy duty casters are available as an option.”

Also new to this version is a Single Riser and Double Riser option, just as reliable as the earlier VATORS. The Crank-O-Vator does away with the Push To Release button to raise the fixture. The button is now used solely as a safety feature while lowering the fixture. These stands still have a loading height of 37 and 38 respectively. They have only seven moving parts in the entire assembly. The break-away design protects the handle and eliminates the need to reverse it for storage and/or transit. And the columns can be raised and lowered without any weight.

Weighing in at 75lbs (34kg)/82lbs (41kg), the newest version of the Lo Boy Crank-O-Vator prices out at $2,350 and $2,850 with Big Boy Wheels an additional $1,768.

The Lo Boy Crank-O-Vator will be on show at Cine Gear:
